Ref. No. 529. ‘IRVIN’ FLYING JACKET. Circa 1940. Common items with other Irvins include; same shape belt buckle, colar fasteners for elastic strap, correct panel shapes and covered seams, sheepskin covered with brown dye and waterproofing, zipped sleeves, etc. Only uncommon item is addition of domed front.
Ref. No. 725.  IRVIN TROUSERS. Circa late 1930s.  Label reads “Irvinsuit. Irvin Air Chute of Great Britain Ltd.  Letchworth Herts Patent No.407445/32.”  On the braces is written “F. G. Taylor 41963”.  In black paint on back is “337”.  Stitching in poor shape and needs replacing.  Top of one leg pocket missing. Probably used by Frank Granville Taylor.  Joined 9/2/41.  Went to Canada.  Later commissioned.  Flying Officer.
Ref. No.37. SIDCOT FLYING SUIT. Circa 1930s. British Inter-wars Pilots Flight Suit.  Attachments for fur collar. Zips up right front side of pilot. Buttoned fly to left. map pocket left side over heart. Two pockets on legs. Zips each side to access trouser pockets. Zips front shins.

Ref. No. 1167. M-426A WWII FLYING OVERALLS AS WORN IN THE PACIFIC BY RNZAF FIGHTER PILOTS. Label reads “Suits, Flying, Summer, BU. Aero. U.S. Navy. Specification M-426A. Royal Airsuit, Inc. Contract NXs 5138”. Size 40M.

Ref. No. 790.  LEATHER GAUNTLETS.  Circa 1940s.  Light brown.  Label inside reads “II. & R. Morleys, The Flying Wheel, Trade Mark, Worcester Make.”

Ref. No. 746. 1943 PATTERN "ESCAPE" BOOTS Stores reference Number 22C/917-924 RAF .  Escape boots consisted of a lace up, black leather walking show with an attached, zip-up black leather legging.  In the event of landing  in enemy territory, the wearer separated the leggings from the show section using a folding pocket knife concealed inside a pocket of the right boot.  It was believed the walking shoe would be less obvious and more comfortable  for the wearer to escape.
Ref. No. 128. LEATHER FLYING BOOTS. Circa 1930s. Black outsides. Leather soles. Calf length (approx 320mm high). Size 7.  Buckle at top. Lambskin lined. No brand name. Good condition apart from loss of some lambskin. Previously owned by "Bobby" (Robert) Herriot.

Ref. No. 1034. RNZAF DOUGLAS A-4 SKYHAWK LIFE JACKET AND PARACHUTE HARNESS. Labels on harness have been removed. On harness release has been engraved the number “ATF 187”.

Ref. No. 1033. RNZAF SKYHAWK ANTI-G GARMENT CSU-13B/P USED BY NEW ZEALAND RNZAF A-4 PILOT.  The pilots name is written on umbilical cord. Garment labels have “080193” written on the.  Size is medium regular. Middle label reads “Anti G Garment, Cutaway, CSU-13B/P Mil-A-83406B, Kings Point Mfg. Co. Inc. F41608-83-0-0207” .

Ref. No. 1055. 75 SQUADRON RNZAF SKYHAWK PILOT EQUIPMENT. Includes Alpha helmet, oyxgen mask, Nomex overalls with 75 Squadron badge, shoulder insignia, life jacket, anti-g garment and boots
